Your Health Insurance Went Up. Should You Stay?
Send us the renewal notice as soon as it arrives. We re-quote it across the carriers we represent and tell you honestly whether to move or stay. Renewals have dates, so earlier is better than the week before.
Two kinds of plan, two kinds of renewal
ACA Marketplace plans
Re-priced every year; subsidies shift with income. Open Enrollment in most states runs November 1 through January 15 for coverage the following year (enroll by December 15 for a January 1 start); a few state-run exchanges use their own windows.
Private plans
Some plans lock the rate for 12 months or longer at enrollment. Private plans are available year-round, so you do not have to wait for Open Enrollment to compare.
Two ways to find out where you stand
Are you paying too much now?
The "Am I overpaying?" check asks where your plan comes from first, because a subsidised premium or a payroll deduction is only part of the real price.
Have us review what you have
Send your current plan summary and we'll tell you honestly whether you're underinsured, overpaying, or right where you should be, even if the answer is "keep what you have."
Ask us before you cancel anything
The order matters: the new policy is in force first, then the old one is cancelled effective the same date, so you are never double-paying or uncovered. Some policies refund unused premium; some require written notice; we handle that paperwork with you.
We do not push one carrier
BrightHaven is independent and appointed with many carriers, so the only reason to recommend one is that it fits you. If the best answer is "keep what you have" or "go to the Marketplace," that is what you will hear.
Got a renewal notice?
Send it over and a licensed advisor re-quotes it across the carriers we represent. There's no separate advisory fee for standard guidance.
